Fire Department Programs
Firehouse Tours are offered for groups interested in coming to the firehouse. Many of the same behaviors discussed in our fire prevention presentations are reinforced and time is spent explaining our operations/response/apparatus.
Smoke Detector Program which provides free smoke detectors and batteries to all residential occupancies where smoke detectors are not mandated. This includes free installation of detectors and battery replacement. Smoke detectors for the hearing impaired are also available.
CPR/First Aid Programs are available for the general public, civic groups, and the business community.
Juvenile Firesetters Program which provides counseling and education on the danger of fire to juveniles involved in setting fires.
Single Family Fire Inspections are conducted upon request.
Hug-A-Bear Program which gives a stuffed animal to child who is injured or ill or involved in a tragic situation.
Prom Promise Program is a program that is available to the high schools prior to the annual prom. This program is coordinated along with the police department and school officials. The program addresses the danger of driving and alcohol.
Blood Pressure Screenings is available during normal operating hours at the Valley Station. Special screening programs can also be scheduled.
Knox Box Program provides a a secure, rapid entry for the fire department. It’s a high-security box system, designed to give firefighters and emergency services immediate access to locked buildings, elevators, and other secured areas.
