TREASURER MELVIN T. GERTZ

Melvin T. GertzMel has been active in local government for over 30 years. He has served as the elected TREASURER since January 1, 1994. Outside of the political arena, Mel has been an active participant and leader in many Reading organizations including, the Reading Soccer League, Girl Scouts and the Reading Republican Club. Mel has also been a member of the Reading Historical Society since its inception.

He and his wife Connie raised two daughters, Kandace & Lauren. Kandace is married with two children and resides in North Carolina where she practices as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Lauren is married and resides locally with her husband Scott and their three children. Lauren is a practicing Radiologic Technologist.

Mel is long time Reading resident. He and his wife Connie are members of Saints Peter and Paul Parish. Mel also servers on the Parish Finance Committee. Mel attended Saints Peter & Paul and Saint Michael’s grade schools and graduated from Moeller High School. Mel has a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University specializing in Information Technology.

Mel has over 35 years of Management Consulting, Computer Technology, and General Business experience. He currently serves as an Independent Consultant across multiple industries. He is very comfortable managing large staffs and multi-million dollar budgets and has done this for several years.
