Fire ExplorerAre you interested in a career in fire or emergency services and are between the ages of 14 and 20?

If so, the Reading Fire Department Explorer Post is seeking applicants for their program.

What are the requirements?

Fire Explorer applicants must be 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) to 20 years old. Explorers must also maintain a 2.5gpa at their respective school.

What will you learn?

Explorers will meet twice a month and gain actual hands on and classroom experience presented by members of the Reading Fire Department. Explorers will develop skills and demonstrate these skills in areas such as emergency medical skills, search and rescue, fire hose deployment, ladder placement, and many other skills used in the fire service.

What is the purpose of the Exploring?

Exploring’s purpose is to provide experiences to help young people mature and prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Explorers are ready to investigate the meaning of interdependence in their personal relationships and communities.
