We at City Hall hope you’re all well and closely monitoring the growing COVID-19 health concern impacting our nation. We encourage you to pay attention to the information provided by Hamilton County Public Health, Ohio Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as this situation is rapidly changing. The City of Reading will continue to provide the best services possible with the resources available. To do this, we must protect our employees from potential exposure and illness. Typically, our City Hall, Police and Fire Departments are open and welcoming to the public for day-to-day business. We have decided, with the ever-changing health concerns to close City Hall and limit public access. We are doing this to insure we can continue the valuable services you expect.
Effective immediately, the General Offices, Water Department and Tax Department will be closed to the public until April 3, 2020. The length of closure will be evaluated if circumstances change.
Employees will be in the General Offices to answer questions from 7am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Please call (513) 733-3725 and your call will be re-directed accordingly. For further information, specifically on paying water bills and tax filing, visit www.readingohio.org. The non-emergency Police Department number is (513) 733-4122 and the non-emergency Fire Department number is (513) 733-5537—Remember, if you have an emergency call 911.
All scheduled Mayor’s Court cases have been continued until May 19, 2020. If your citation is eligible for payout, you can do so without being assessed late penalties. If you have questions, please call the Police non-emergency number (513) 733-4122 for further assistance.
We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience these changes create. We feel this decision is in the best interest of our community, office staff and first responders.
