Reading, Ohio — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the area beginning Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and continuing through Monday at noon. In response, the City has declared a Snow Emergency to ensure public safety and allow crews to efficiently clear roadways.

The Safety Service Director has declared a Snow Emergency effective Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.

During the Snow Emergency, no parking will be permitted on designated Snow Emergency Routes to allow city salt and plow trucks and emergency vehicles to operate safely. Vehicles parked on these routes may be towed.

Snow Emergency Routes include:
Reading Road; East Galbraith Road; East Benson Street; West Benson Street; East Columbia Avenue; West Columbia Avenue; Hunt Road; Fuhrman Road; Thurnridge Drive; Keith Drive; Jefferson Avenue.

Residents are urged to move vehicles off Snow Emergency Routes prior to the storm to avoid being plowed in or stranded and to assist city crews in keeping roadways clear.

Once the Snow Emergency has been lifted by the Safety Service Director, cancellation notices will be posted through local media outlets.

For updates, residents should monitor local weather forecasts and official City communications.
