Reconnecting Communities: Call to Action for Public Engagement
Posted By:  Patrick Ross
Tuesday, September 16, 2025

The City of Reading is partnering with Hamilton County and the First Suburbs Consortium to share important updates about the Reconnecting Communities (RCN) Project. This initiative is designed to address transportation barriers that make it difficult for residents, workers, and visitors to move easily from one side of the community to the other. Highways, railroads, and missing sidewalks impact access to jobs, healthcare, education, parks, and family. The RCN Project will help identify solutions for safer, more connected, and more vibrant neighborhoods—but community input is essential.

How You Can Get Involved

You are invited to participate in upcoming public engagement events to learn more and share your ideas:
  • Wednesday, October 1, 2025: 6:00 – 7:30 PM @ Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church
  • Thursday, October 2, 2025: 12:00 – 1:30 PM @ Reading Public Library OR 6:00 – 7:30 PM @ Evendale Recreation Center
Each event will include a short presentation and interactive activities to gather your feedback.

About the Study

The study focuses on six municipalities: Arlington Heights, Evendale, Lincoln Heights, Lockland, Reading, and Sharonville. It will examine eight key corridors to improve east–west connectivity and strengthen mobility, access, and economic opportunities across our region.
